Bike Week

A national celebration of freedom, Bike Week is an annual opportunity to promote cycling as a source of fitness and fun. Up and down the UK, thousands of free cycling events will provide the opportunity for everyone from total novices to passionate cyclists to get on their bikes.

BikeHub, Formerly BikeForAll

The cycling portal. Funded jointly by the Department for Transport and the bicycle industry itself.

York Cycle Rally

"York Rally" is the biggest cycle festival in the UK. Held each year since 1945 and a great social event. Now forms part of National Bike Week.

CYCLING ORGANISATIONS

British Cycling Federation (BCF)

The body in charge of racing in the UK.

British Human Power Club (BHPC)

The club for UK recumbent enthusiasts.

British Schools Cycling Association

Group promoting the use of cycles to school children.

Company Of Cyclists

dedicated to promoting cycling, in all its varieties, for leisure, transport, health, happiness and the environment. We operate at many levels and are backed by a large number of cyclist-supporter-shareholders.

CTC

The Cyclists Touring Club. Actively campaigns for cyclists all around the UK whether members or not.

Cycling England

Formerly the National Cycling Strategy Board. Cycling England is the national body which co-ordinates the development of cycling across England.

Cycling Time Trials

Perhaps better known as the RTTC. The governing body of all Road Time Trialling in the UK

LifeCycleUK

a cycling charity working to promote awareness of cycling issues, training for cycling proficiency in schools and deprived areas and working with the NHS to train beginners who have health problems to cycle. LifeCycleUK have worked mainly in the south west so far, under the name cycle west, but we ar now expanding to cover the UK as a whole. They organise cycling proficiency for schools, and many of their courses are free if you live in certain deprived areas such as Easton and Southmead.

Sustrans

is the charity behind practical and innovative solutions to some of the UK's biggest transport challenges, including the award-winning National Cycle Network, Safe Routes to Schools, Bike It and TravelSmart.

Association of Cycle Traders (ACT)

Bicycle Association

The association to which many UK manufacturers belong.

PRINT AND ONLINE MAGAZINES

A to B magazine

A magazine for riders of folding bikes and electric bikes.

BikeBiz

A site for the bike trade, but there’s a lot of useful information you can access too.

BIKEmagic

A magazine-style site for mountain and road bike riders mainly. It also has a very useful gadget for finding shops and clubs near you, called the Localizer.

London Cycling Campaign

Excellent webzine, featuring downloadable OS maps and excellent race reporting and industry news.

Velo Vision

Velo Vision magazine, covering specialised bikes, cycling as transport and human power. It's a quarterly dose of cycle inspiration. Of particular interest is an excellent article covering cycling and bike adaptations for people with special physical needs.
