Many thanks for producing such a useful website. I haven't been on a bike for 18 years but the kids are now at that dangerous age of wanting to explore further than the end of our road on their bikes without being old enough or safe enough to do it on their own. I'm exhausted running up and down hills with them and figured, "If you can't beat 'em, join'em!" So bike shop, here I come. Cheers. Karen, Colwyn Bay.

Hi! This is a fantastic website. It gave me exactly the sort of advice i was looking for, before buying my first bike.

Thanks!

I'm just starting to cycle again after a 25 year break. I'm very slow and walk up some hills and I'm sure my bum does look big on this - but I don't care, its good fun! I was just so inspired by the guy in his seventies starting over again. What was I worried about!! Good on you mate. Life is short - just enjoy every day, and take each hour as it comes. Ladies lets get cycling. Stop looking at the horizon and just take time to look at the good people and life around you. A good site to come across. Janie

This is a brilliant site - I wish I'd come across it before. Particularly liked your information about children's bikes, calculating suitable bike frame size and the government tax break scheme.
Thanks!

I came to this site by chance and the first thing I got subjected to was intrusive advertising by Orange. I won't be coming here again !!
Why Cycle? comments:
Daz, I can understand your frustration and can only apologise. When I signed up WhyCycle? to be one of the host sites for Orange's Play Balloonacy, it seemed like a good idea... but I must admit that the game is considerably more intrusive that I had anticipated. There are controls so you can turn the game off and more info here: http://www.playballoonacy.com/faq.html It only exists on the homepage and will terminate after June 30th.

Whilst searching google for a "what bike should i buy information" i came across this site, very informative and i learned a lot from it....to the editor thankyou,
However i am still unsure about which model to purchase, i have decided on the type which is a hybrid bike but not sure whether to buy a steel 18 or 21 or more geared model.
If there is anyone out there who could recommend a model i would be grateful

Thanks again.......Jim
Why Cycle? comments:
Thanks for your kind comments. The site can't offer you individual advice about what specific bike is best for you, but if you head over to the forum and ask your question there, you will more likely receive some recommendations.

I found this site by accident from google whilst being bamboozled by the amount of different types of bike available now! It has been great help and hopefully I shall be on the road soon. I will also be recommending the site to others!
